Ful Mudammas (Egyptian Fava Bean Salad)

Ful Mudammas is part of the daily diet in Egypt. It is often served warm for breakfast with olive oil drizzled on top.

Drain fava beans into a strainer, reserving liquid. Rinse beans and place in a bowl. Mix in the remaining ingredients, adding enough of the reserved liquid to make a saucy bean salad.

Serve with pita bread for dipping in the flavorful salad juices.


  • 15 oz Fava Beans* (or other beans of your choice)
  • 1/3 c diced Onion
  • 1/3 c diced Tomato
  • 1/3 c chopped Parsley
  • 1 tbsp Pomegranate syrup* (optional, but it really adds to the flavor)
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Tahini Sauce & Dip Spice
