Keftedes (Greek Meatball Appetizers)

Serve Keftedes with Yogurt-Sour Cream Dip at your next party. Try them in your favorite spaghetti sauce in place of your usual meatball recipe.

Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Shape into 1 inch balls.

Cooking method #1: Roll in flour and deep fry in hot oil. This is the traditional Greek way of making Keftedes.

Cooking method #2: Heat 2 Tbsp oil in a non-stick frying pan and cook Keftedes over medium heat until browned.

Cooking method #3: Place Keftedes in a baking pan and bake in a preheated 375 degree oven 20 to 30 minutes, until browned, turning occasionally.

  • 1 lb: Pound Lean Ground Beef or Lamb
  • 1/4 c finely chopped Parsley
  • 1/2 c finely Minced Onion
  • 1/2 c plain bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c White Wine
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Hellenic Herb Blend
