Prepare Fatayer Dough and set aside to rise. While dough is rising, mix all filling ingredients in a medium bowl. Set aside until dough is ready. Then proceed with directions for shaping and baking pies. For using purchased dough see NOTE: in Spinach Fatayer recipe, opposite page.
Variation: Use filling ingredients above, substituting 1/2 cup sesame tahini paste or labany (yogurt cheese) for the tomato and pomegranate syrup.
