Zatar Herb Bread

This short-cut version of a popular Middle Eastern breakfast and snack bread is ready in a few minutes. If you want to make it from scratch, prepare the Pita Bread recipe on page 124 of the SPICE BAZAAR COOKBOOK and spread the zatar mixture over the loaves before baking.

Place zatar, RANDA’S SPICE and olive oil in a small bowl and mix. Stir in 1 to 2 tsp water to thin to spreading consistency. Spread 1 1/2 Tbsp on the bottom side of each pita. Place under a preheated broiler and broil until lightly browned.

  • 1 tsp Randa’s Spice
  • 1/4 c Olive Oil
  • 6 Pitas
