Zatar is a flavorful, tangy herb blend that is popular in the Middle East. Traditionally it is served for breakfast by dipping small pieces of pita bread in a little olive oil and then in the za’atar. It is also sprinkled on lebni (yogurt cheese), salads, vegetables and kabobs. ZA’ATAR BREAD RECIPE: Mix 1/2 cup za’atar with 1/4 cup olive oil. Spread on the bottom side of 6 pitas. Broil until lightly browned.
